Au moment où le Premier Ministre turc Recep Tayyip Erdogan effectue une visite à Paris ayant pour but de convaincre les sceptiques qu'Ankara est désormais prête à intégrer l'Europe, le débat sur l'entrée de la Turquie dans l'Union et sur les frontières de l'UE mérite d'être relancé. Aussi est-il nécessaire tout d'abord de répondre aux principaux arguments des partisans de la candidature turque puis d'expliquer quelles seraient les conséquences géopolitiques l'adhésion d'Ankara.
